Cafe Velours was founded with a clear conviction: to create an experience that goes far beyond serving great coffee — offering warmth, comfort, privacy, and an unforgettable atmosphere.
The journey began with Het and Renisha, who were living and working in London before returning to India for their engagement. During their time abroad, Het gained valuable experience working at Starbucks and Subway, while Renisha worked in the restaurant industry. Those experiences shaped their deep understanding of hospitality, customer service, and what makes a café truly memorable.
After returning home to Surat, they asked themselves a simple question: Instead of investing their savings elsewhere, why not build something meaningful for their own city? As they explored Surat's café scene, they noticed that while the city had many cafés, the coffee culture was still evolving. Most people associated aesthetic cafés with outdoor seating. They believed an indoor café could be just as visually stunning while offering something even more valuable — comfort, privacy, and an unforgettable atmosphere.

The Logo Designed By Het
Even the logo has its own story. After reviewing countless designs from professional logo designers, none truly captured their vision. So Het decided to design the logo himself — creating the very emblem that proudly represents Cafe Velours today.
Foram Joining the Journey
As the dream grew, Renisha's brother, Foram, joined the journey as the third co-founder. His arrival made the entire development process significantly smoother. Foram took charge of much of the interior development, kitchen setup, and behind-the-scenes execution, helping turn the vision into reality. With Het's creative direction, Renisha's hospitality experience, and Foram's hands-on execution, the three founders combined their strengths to build Cafe Velours from the ground up.
